Our Quest

The one great thing that we seek is to become more like Jesus Christ. That is impossible for us to achieve in our own strength. It is so natural for us to please ourselves. Our prayer is that we will increasingly rely on God and His power and wisdom. We have developed seven values that we desire to reflect in God's strength. We want to make Him look good in all that we do because of all that Jesus has done for us.

We want to Be Real. - Christianity is not about pretending to be strong. True Christian community is about recognizing our common weakness and seeking in Christ our common strength.

We want to Speak Boldly. - We don't pretend to have all the answers. But we believe firmly, by faith and reason, in the great mysteries of the faith: the inspired Scriptures, the divinity of Jesus, and his death, resurrection, and glorious return. In a world that counts these as mere fables, we boldly count them as life-giving truth.

We want to Build Community. - Our relationships take on a new meaning when we commit to showing each other the same unconditional love that God shows us. We want to build a welcoming and supportive community that values honest words and establishes lasting friendships.

We want to Challenge Values. - All too often, society praises the wrong people and worships the wrong things. In his own day, Jesus rocked conventional wisdom by declaring the least to be the greatest, and by welcoming the outcast with open arms. We seek to do no less.

We want to Show Grace. - The idea of grace sets Christianity apart from all the major faiths. It is, in the words of U2, a "thought that changed the world." Empowered by the very spirit of Jesus, we want to live lifestyles of forgiveness that will transform the broken world around us.

We want to Live Purposefully. - Saint Paul once wrote, "For me to live is Christ." That's our goal - to discover our truest identity and deepest purpose through daily relationship with the living God.

We want to Love Quietly. - We're not out to make a name for ourselves, or to impress anyone. We're ordinary people who have found something extraordinary - new life through Christ. More than anything else, we want to love God and to show his love to others by living lives that speak of humility, service, purity, laughter, and radical devotion.
